Local Democracy

Do you feel that Mayor Ferguson and Bristol City Council respect the views of local people? Do you feel that ordinary Bristolians have enough say over what happens in the City? The government and media often complain that people are apathetic and don’t care about what is going on in society. We think that this is a load of rubbish! People do care but we’re often left feeling locked out of the decision-making processes, that no-one listens to us and that we can’t really make any changes worth making. We know that it doesn’t have to be like this. All we need to do is get together, get organised and decide on the changes that we want to see. The more of us that get involved, the stronger our voices will be. George Ferguson has said that he wants to increase citizen involvement in important decisions but seems to be doing his best to avoid doing exactly that! To show him that we do want a say in how our city is run, please get in touch and help us in one of our campaigns.
