What’s Community Organising?
Already know? Register for the training below.
Community organising is about bringing communities together, uniting them around common concerns and building people power to address them. Community organisers listen to people and motivate them to act together for the common good. We draw out the stories that connect us and unleash the potential of our communities. We help our communities get organised to create change.
Who are these organisers?
Barack Obama and Martin Luther King started out as community organisers. But organisers are people just like you: people who care about our community, people who want to listen and are enthusiastic, persuasive and sometimes angry. We are diverse but we share some values such as equality, democracy and fairness and we’re passionate about people power in communities.
